Spend a beautiful day on the beautiful “Golden” Cedar River canoeing-kayaking-tubing. Then stop in at one of
Gladwins food establishments for some lunch/dinner/refreshments. After that stop in and visit the many shops in
Downtown Gladwin. We have antique shops, gift shops, bars and restaurants etc. Ofcourse the Riverwalk Place
with a restaurant/bar/shoping (outside bar too next to the river) and walkways on the Cedar River is also
a must see. The Riverwalk Place now has hotel accomodations -- 989-426-8000
Gladwin is Amish Country.
Don't be surprised to see several black horse drawn buggies trotting through downtown Gladwin. They
will be occupied by the hard working and family oriented Amish. There is quite a large community of
Amish living just outside of Gladwin - quietly, modestly and respectfully living their day to day lives.
Be sure to drive carefully as the Amish Buggies are black and fairly difficult to see in the late evening.
All in all you will have spent some quality outdoor time with your family or your friends visiting and enjoying quaint
Gladwin, Michigan. Thank you for considering Gladwin as your vacation destination. We are blessed with
many beautiful lakes and 6 named rivers within 6 miles of Gladwin. Quite a watershed. A Boaters
Dream.
